Miyavi Biography

Miyavi was born to a Korean father and Japanese mother, as a child he loved Soccer but broke his leg at 15. To cheer himself up he decided to teach himself the guitar and picked up a distinctive technique of slapping the strings with his fingers.

His music has been featured on various TV adverts (UNIQLO /TOSHIBA/Nissan) and his stylish visual - which is quite androgynous - is receiving a lot of attention from fashion brands. He has tattoos everywhere with very specific meanings regarding him as a person.

THE SAMURAI GUITARIST keeps challenging the world by being chosen by Angelina Jolie to portray a Japanese POW camp villain in the movie 'Unbroken' which is released late 2014. He felt the role was all about forgiveness and he was doing this for Japan.
