In 2001, RADWIMPS was formed in the city of Yokohama.
In May 2003, the band made their indie debut with the 1st single "Moshimo" followed by their indie 1st album "RADWIMPS" in July.
By constantly touring and participating at various summer festivals, the band gained many loyal fans, especially among teenagers.
RADWIMPS made their major debut from EMI in Nov. 2005 with a single "25-Ko Me No Senshoku-Tai".
In August of the same year, they hosted a very successful SOLD OUT headline gig at Yokohama Arena with 12,000 audiences.
Since then, they have released hit singles and albums and toured around Japan including their biggest outdoor show in Miyagi prefecture on Sep. 15th, 2013 with audience of approx. 22,000.
In Dec. 2013, their highly anticipated 5th major album (7th total) was released and debuted at No.2 on Oricon weekly album chart.
RADWIMPS offer a wide sound palette and their own mix of styles based on rock music.
Yojiro Noda's poetic lyrics, which is one of the band's highlights, are witty and bright with heartfelt soul.
