En amont - CD
It is now nearly 10 years since Alain left and it was time to get down to it. To re-live one's voice with those who loved and still love him.
Bashung will no longer have the opportunity to return to the studio. Before leaving, however, he leaves instructions to Chloe Mons, his last wife, to establish an inventory of unfinished things and, why not, give them a second life when the time comes. Thus was born 'Upstream', a title that specifies the nature of these songs that, in their disordered manners, presided over the spurt of Blue Petroleum. And it was because she had the approval of her late knight that Chloe decided to build backwards this kingdom engulfed. "It took me a long time to take inventory," she says, "and also to make the decision to reveal it”.
If an artist exists as long as his art is alive; love exists as long as the person is in the thoughts of others. Two consistent reasons to release these beautiful songs.
It is this flower with velvet petals, symbol of rest, tranquility and consolation, which today serves as emblem for upstream.
