'78
'78 is the debut solo album from Pink Martini's singer China Forbes.
A project dear to China's heart that has been in the works for several years, '78 marks a stylistic departure from Pink Martini and is a return to her roots.
Steeped in singer/songwriter tradition, '78 is a passionate highly personal song cycle filled with intimate stories of love, loneliness, friendship and alienation. She recorded the album in her hometown Portland with producer Gregg Williams (Sheryl Crow/Dandy Warhols). China also performs on an array of instruments including guitar, piano, bass, harmonium and Wurlitzer.
The result is a wonderfully crafted original and brilliant solo record – one that only China could create.
