Brought up in Paris, Faudel is the son of Algerian parents and it is the heritage of Algerian culture that courses through this album. Like on previous releases Faudel is keen to express what it means to be a French Algerian. It relates above all to Faudel’s desire to contribute, through song, to a better understanding of a minority population apart – part French but also inextricably tied to it’s roots in a different time and place.
